Why Does Screen Printing Have a Minimum Order?
Screen printing has a minimum order because preparing screens for each colour in a design is a fixed, manual task that takes the same time whether one shirt or fifty are printed. What actually happens during screen setup?
Before a single shirt can be printed, a fine mesh screen has to be prepared for each colour in the design, coated with a light-sensitive emulsion, exposed to the design image, and then washed out to reveal the stencil pattern ink will pass through.
