What Printing Does a Small Ipswich Event Need?

Whether it is a school fair, a charity fundraiser, a market day or a business open evening, event print follows a timeline. Order in the wrong sequence and the promotion arrives after people have made other plans.

What should be printed when, working back from event day?

What promotes a local event best?

Posters in the places your audience already stands — community boards, shop windows, cafés — sized to the distance they will be read from, per what poster size gets noticed. Flyers do the portable work: handed out, left on counters, or dropped through doors in the streets nearest the venue, per the leaflet distribution guide.

Both need the same four facts, unmissably: what, when, where, and how much it costs to attend.

What signage does the day itself need?

One banner that identifies the event from a distance, directional signs at arrival points, and a printed label at every decision point. Outdoor pitches want PVC banners fixed at every eyelet, per the outdoor banner guide; indoor venues are usually better served by roller banners that stand unaided, per the roller banner guide.

Do we need a programme?

If there is a schedule, a stallholder list or sponsors to thank, yes — a stapled booklet holds all three and gets kept far longer than a folded sheet, per the booklet printing guide. Pages come in multiples of four, so plan content accordingly.

What gets forgotten every time?

The follow-up. Attendees are most receptive on the day, and a small card or flyer carrying the next date, contact details or an offer converts that goodwill into something measurable. It costs little and has to exist before the event, not after it.

What if the deadline has already moved?

Flat print — flyers, posters, simple signs — can often be collected the same afternoon with print-ready artwork before the 1pm cut-off, per the same-day printing guide. Banners and booklets need more notice, so those are the items worth ordering first.

Event print comes from Minuteman Press Ipswich, 5 Tacket Street, IP4 1AU.

Frequently asked questions

When should event promotion be printed?
Four to six weeks before the day. Earlier and it slips people's minds, later and diaries are full. Posters and flyers both work best with a second push in the final week.
What signage does a small event need?
A main identifying banner, directional signs where people arrive, and clear labels wherever a decision is made — entry, tickets, refreshments, exits.
What is most often forgotten?
The follow-up piece. Something to hand attendees on the day — next event date, contact details, an offer — printed in advance rather than remembered afterwards.
